Compliant with EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU
🔑 TL;DR: Free tier has nothing to refund. Pro licences: if your key is faulty or invalid, contact us within 14 days and we will refund you. Successfully activated, working keys are non-refundable.
1. Digital Licence Keys — Right of Withdrawal
Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal from distance contracts. However, Article 16(m) of the Directive provides an exemption for digital content not supplied on a tangible medium where performance has begun with the consumer's prior express consent and acknowledgement that they thereby lose their right of withdrawal.
When you purchase a PrivacyPromptAI Pro licence on Gumroad, you are purchasing a digital licence key — a unique activation code delivered electronically. By completing the purchase and receiving your licence key, you expressly consent to immediate performance and acknowledge that you waive your 14-day right of withdrawal.
⚠ The waiver of withdrawal rights applies only once the licence key has been delivered. It does not apply to faulty or non-functioning keys — see Section 2.
2. Refunds for Technical Issues
We stand behind our product. If your Pro licence key is faulty, invalid, or fails to activate despite following the correct procedure, you are entitled to a full refund under the following conditions:
- Faulty key: The key does not work when entered correctly in the licence validation field on the PRO PII Protection page.
- Invalid key: The Gumroad system rejects the key as invalid despite it being copied correctly from the confirmation email.
- Duplicate charge: You were charged more than once for the same licence.
- Non-delivery: You completed payment but never received a licence key by email (including spam/junk folder checked).
📅 Refund requests for technical issues must be submitted within 14 days of the original purchase date.
3. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, send an email to contact@privacypromptai.com with the following information:
- Your full name as used during purchase
- The email address used for the Gumroad purchase
- Your Gumroad order number or receipt
- A brief description of the issue (e.g. "key shows invalid", "email never received")
- Screenshot of the error if applicable

4. Non-Refundable Situations
Refunds will not be issued in the following circumstances:
- The licence key was successfully activated and Pro features are functioning correctly.
- You changed your mind after activation.
- You no longer need the Pro features.
- The refund request is submitted more than 14 days after the purchase date.
- You purchased the licence knowing the features you needed (features are clearly described on the PRO PII Protection page before purchase).

5. Legal Basis
This policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Romania and the European Union. Disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Romanian courts, without prejudice to your rights as a consumer under the laws of your country of residence within the EU.
