1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using PrivacyPromptAI (available at privacypromptai.com) or the associated SecurePrompt browser extension, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the service.

These Terms apply to all users of the service — whether using the free tier or the Pro licence. These Terms were last updated on 19 March 2026.

2. Description of Service

PrivacyPromptAI provides a browser-based document redaction tool that detects and removes personally identifiable information (PII) from text and documents. Processing occurs entirely within the user's browser using client-side JavaScript. No document content is transmitted to our servers.

The service includes:

• Free Tier: The Workspace and Clean Document tools, supporting TXT and DOCX formats, accessible without registration at privacypromptai.com.
• PRO PII Protection: A one-time paid upgrade unlocking PDF, XLSX, CSV, Markdown, HTML and LaTeX format support, custom keyword detection, batch processing and audit report export.
• SecurePrompt Chrome Extension: A browser extension enabling PII redaction directly within AI tool interfaces (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini etc.), available on the Chrome Web Store.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use PrivacyPromptAI, or at least 16 years of age in jurisdictions where 16 is the age of digital consent. By using the service you confirm that you meet the applicable age requirement.

If you are using the service on behalf of an organisation or company, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

4. Permitted Use

You may use PrivacyPromptAI for any lawful purpose, including but not limited to:

• Redacting personal data from documents before sharing them internally, externally or with AI tools.
• Anonymising datasets, records or reports for research, compliance or publication purposes.
• Supporting GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA or other data protection compliance processes within your organisation.
• Personal use for cleaning CVs, letters, invoices or any other personal documents.

5. Prohibited Use

You agree not to use PrivacyPromptAI in any manner that:

• Violates any applicable local, national or international law or regulation.
• Involves the processing of documents you do not have the right to access or redact.
• Attempts to reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape or reproduce the service or its underlying algorithms.
• Uses automated tools (bots, crawlers, scrapers) to access or extract data from the service in an unauthorised manner.
• Attempts to circumvent, disable or interfere with security features of the service.
• Misrepresents the output of the tool as having been validated by a certified compliance authority.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, trademarks and branding on PrivacyPromptAI — including the name "PrivacyPromptAI", the SecurePrompt extension, and the website interface — are the intellectual property of PrivacyPromptAI and are protected under applicable copyright and trademark laws.

You retain full ownership of all documents you process through the tool. We claim no rights over your content.

You may not reproduce, distribute or create derivative works from our service without prior written permission.

7. PRO PII Protection

The Pro licence is a one-time, lifetime purchase of a digital licence key, processed through Gumroad. By purchasing, you receive a non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to unlock Pro features on your device.

• The licence key is tied to one user. It may not be shared, resold or transferred.
• Pro features are unlocked client-side via localStorage. Clearing your browser data will require you to re-enter your key.
• We reserve the right to revoke licences associated with fraudulent purchases, chargebacks or policy violations.
• Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

PrivacyPromptAI is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:

• The service will be uninterrupted, error-free or available at all times.
• PII detection will be 100% accurate or complete. Detection is based on pattern matching and named-entity recognition and may miss certain instances of PII.
• The redacted output will be legally sufficient for any specific regulatory requirement without further human review.

You use the service at your own risk. PrivacyPromptAI is a tool to assist with redaction — it does not replace legal, compliance or privacy professional advice.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PrivacyPromptAI and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including:

• Loss of data, business, revenue or profits.
• Any data breach or privacy violation resulting from documents processed through the tool.
• Regulatory fines or penalties arising from inadequate redaction.
• Any harm arising from third-party services (Gumroad, Ko-fi, Chrome Web Store etc.) linked from this website.

Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Pro licence (if any), or €10, whichever is greater.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless PrivacyPromptAI, its operator, and any affiliated parties from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to:

• Your use of the Service in violation of these Terms.
• Your violation of any applicable law or regulation.
• Your infringement of any third-party intellectual property or other rights.

This indemnification obligation survives termination of these Terms and your use of the Service.

11. Privacy

Your use of PrivacyPromptAI is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. In summary: we collect no document data, no user tracking, and no personal data beyond what you voluntarily submit via the contact form.

12. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users via the website.

12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Romania and, where applicable, the laws of the European Union. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Romanian courts, without prejudice to your rights as a consumer under the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
